About this position
The Melero-Martin Laboratory is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow in cardiovascular tissue engineering and vascularization at Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute.
The project focuses on engineering vascular networks within cardiac tissue constructs, including the generation and assembly of iPSC-derived vascular cells, development of perfusable microvascular networks, and integration of vasculature into engineered heart tissues. The lab’s broader research spans vascular biology, regenerative medicine, endothelial cell biology, biomaterials, and in vivo models.
Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a Ph.D., Sc.D., or equivalent degree (or be close to completion), a strong publication record, and ideally experience in stem cell culture, cell biology, animal models, iPSCs, endothelial cells, vascular biology, biomaterials, hydrogels, or 3D culture systems. The lab also values independence, strong scientific writing, communication, organization, and a clear interest in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
Funding: salary will be commensurate with experience.
How to apply: send a CV, a brief statement of current and future career goals, and contact information for three references to Dr. Melero-Martin at [email protected]. More information is available on the lab opportunities page and the linked application post.
This is a postdoctoral opening, not a PhD or master’s call. The post also mentions a separate research assistant role, but the main advertised opportunity is the postdoctoral researcher position.
Funding details
Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
How to apply
Please submit your application including a cover letter, CV, academic transcripts, and contact information for two references. Applications should be sent via the online portal before the deadline.
