Harvard University’s Bergelson Lab is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow in Cognitive and Developmental Psychology with a focus on early language development.

The project examines how infants and toddlers develop the cognitive and linguistic skills that support word learning and broader language development in the first years of life. The postdoc will help collect, analyze, and write up experimental data, and will have opportunities to build new collaborative projects based on ongoing lab work.

Research areas: psychology, cognitive science, linguistics, psycholinguistics, developmental science, child language acquisition, infant cognition, open science, R/Python-based analysis.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Linguistics, or a related field. Experience with child data collection and analysis is required, preferably with infants or toddlers. Strong communication skills and programming ability in R and/or Python are expected. Experience with infant methods such as eye-tracking or preference tasks, and familiarity with Open Science practices, are preferred.

Funding and terms: this is a one-year postdoctoral appointment with possible renewal depending on performance and funding. The salary range listed is $67,600–$80,000.
