About this position
Stanford University’s Hüttenhain Lab is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to study GPCR signaling, with a focus on how G protein-coupled receptors engage non-canonical intracellular effectors through intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs). The project sits at the interface of proteomics, structural biology, computational structural biology, and molecular biology, and aims to define new modes of receptor signaling across the broader GPCR superfamily.
The postdoc will work in the Molecular & Cellular Physiology Department at Stanford University and join an interdisciplinary team using APEX-based proximity labeling proteomics, cross-linking MS, HDX-MS, AlphaFold-based prediction, cryo-EM collaborations, targeted mutagenesis, biochemical validation, CRISPR-based functional genomics, and quantitative imaging. The lab studies how intracellular signaling networks are organized and remodeled downstream of GPCRs and how signaling dynamics translate extracellular cues into phenotypic outputs.
Eligibility highlights: Ph.D. in structural biology, proteomics, biochemistry, life sciences, or a related field; strong publication record; excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; and enthusiasm for science and mentorship. Candidates with backgrounds in proteomics, structural biology, computational structural biology, and/or molecular biology are especially encouraged.
Funding: This is a paid postdoctoral appointment for 1–2 years, renewable based on satisfactory performance. Stanford states that the position pays the university required minimum for postdoctoral scholars; the FY27 minimum base pay is $79,056.
How to apply: Send a cover letter, CV with complete publication list, and contact information for 2–3 references to [email protected]. The post does not list a formal deadline, so applicants should apply as soon as possible.
Location: Stanford University, United States.
