About this position

Dannielle Engle’s lab at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead the next phase of a patient-derived organoid program focused on pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.

The project will use patient-derived pancreatic organoids together with molecular and functional approaches to dissect CFTR and other ion-transport pathways, explain disease heterogeneity, and test therapeutic response across patient-specific models. The lab’s recent work built a biobank of chronic pancreatitis patient-derived organoids and identified widespread CFTR dysfunction, including in patients without pathogenic CFTR mutations.

The position is best suited to a PhD scientist who is curious, collaborative, and strong in project management. The lab prefers candidates with experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology; background in organoids, pancreatic/epithelial biology, CFTR and ion transport, sequencing-based methods, or mouse models is a plus.

The role is available immediately and is located on the main campus in La Jolla, United States. Interested applicants should use the application link provided in the post.
