About this position
Colorado State University is recruiting two postdoctoral fellows in statistical genetics and genomics. The position is based in the Department of Statistics and involves close collaboration with Dr. Gao Wang and his research team in the Department of Neurology at Columbia University.
The research program focuses on statistical methodology, functional genomics, human genetic and multi-omic data, and neuroscience, including NIH-funded work on nonlinear and context-dependent genetic regulation in Alzheimer’s disease and the aging brain. The fellow will have opportunities to develop new methods, analyze large-scale data, lead methodological and applied projects, and build an independent research direction.
Eligibility: applicants should have a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a closely related quantitative field by the start date. Strong R skills and experience with human genetic or genomic data are required. Preferred experience includes genetic association analysis, fine-mapping, xQTL analysis, colocalization, TWAS, multi-omic integration, reproducible computing, Linux/HPC, and scientific writing.
Funding: the position is expected to be supported for two years, with possible extension. Salary is listed at $65,000–$75,000. Visa sponsorship may be available depending on the selected candidate’s situation.
Application: submit one single PDF with a CV and research statement through the CSU Workday portal. Full consideration deadline is 2026-11-01; applications may be reviewed until 2026-11-15. Finalists will later provide contact information for three references.
