About this position
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). The post is part of a research team led by Professor Sylvia He and focuses on transport electrification, especially electric vehicle (EV) charging behavior, charging infrastructure planning, and mobility data analytics.
The successful candidate will work on analysing large-scale trajectory and mobility datasets, developing transport- and EV-related models, and preparing manuscripts for publication in leading international journals. The lab emphasizes innovative, policy-relevant research with strong potential for high-impact interdisciplinary publication.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in Transportation Engineering, Transport Geography, Urban Analytics, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a closely related field; demonstrated research experience in EV charging behavior, charging demand modelling, or charging infrastructure planning and optimization; strong quantitative skills in transportation modelling, spatial analysis, statistical modelling, machine learning, or related methods; and an excellent publication record with at least three first-authored Q1 journal articles published or accepted.
Additional strengths such as experience in competitive research grant proposals, strong academic writing, independent research ability, and collaborative interdisciplinary work are welcomed. The appointment is initially for one year, starting in October or November 2026, with renewal subject to performance, mutual agreement, and funding availability.
