About this position

Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Bone Biology and Bone Marrow Research at UT Health San Antonio

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in Dr. Jean X. Jiang’s laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Structural Biology at UT Health San Antonio. The lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate bone remodeling, osteocyte function, bone marrow stromal/progenitor cells, and skeletal diseases.

Current NIH-funded projects focus on osteocyte mechanotransduction, connexin hemichannel signaling, bone marrow mesenchymal/stromal progenitor cell differentiation, and therapeutic approaches for osteoporosis and age-related bone loss. This is a strong opportunity for candidates interested in bone biology, cell and molecular biology, and translational skeletal research.

The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have strong training in cell and molecular biology. Experience with both in vitro studies and in vivo mouse models is required. Prior experience in bone biology, bone marrow biology, mesenchymal/stromal progenitor cells, osteoblast/osteocyte biology, or skeletal disease models is preferred.

The successful postdoc will have opportunities to develop independent research projects, publish high-impact studies, and receive mentoring toward an independent research career.

To apply, send a CV, a brief description of research experience and career interests, and contact information for three references to Jean X. Jiang, Ph.D. at [email protected].

No deadline was stated in the post.
