Main responsibilities include developing and optimizing VOC sampling and analysis workflows; designing extraction protocols for VOCs from cell lines and urine using SPME or a thermal micro-extraction chamber; performing TD/GC-MS analysis using QqQ and TOF instrumentation; and carrying out data processing such as chromatogram alignment, deconvolution, normalization, and chemometric analysis. The role also involves close collaboration with biologists and clinicians, with an emphasis on integrating chemical data into machine learning models, as well as publishing results and presenting at national and international conferences.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and has advanced skills in mass spectrometry, chemometric tools, and data processing. Experience in gas chromatography and trace-level sampling techniques is welcomed. The role requires an autonomous, rigorous researcher who is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary setting spanning chemistry, biology, and clinical science. Good English proficiency is specified.
