The AgroBioSciences Program (AgBS) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Morocco is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow specializing in Genomics and Bioinformatics. This postdoctoral position focuses on generating and analyzing genomic data related to rhizobia, including their characterization, distribution, diversity, and transmission mechanisms between rhizobia and host plants in Morocco and Africa. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team and contribute to cutting-edge projects in microbial genomics and plant-microbe interactions.

Main responsibilities include conducting research on rhizobia using 16s RNA and ITS sequencing, performing whole-genome sequencing experiments, taxonomy characterization, and comprehensive bioinformatics analyses. The postdoc will also co-supervise master's and doctoral students and is expected to publish research findings in high-impact journals.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline, with demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics pipelines (such as Illumina, MiseQ, Sanger), taxonomy analysis, diversity, and genotyping. Experience with 16s RNA and ITS sequencing data analysis and a strong publication record are required. Excellent English communication skills and a high level of motivation for scientific research are essential.
