About this position

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Behaviour Change at the Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre (MBMC), a joint SQ-NIM-U / UQAM / Concordia laboratory in Montreal, Canada.

This postdoctoral opportunity is embedded in one of three major research initiatives led by MBMC in collaboration with CIUSSS–NIM, Concordia University, and Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM): EVO+, iCARE, and MOTIVATOR. The projects span behavioural science, chronic disease prevention, healthcare communication, population health preparedness, digital health, AI/machine learning, user-centred design, longitudinal and epidemiological analysis, and intervention development/testing.

The fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Kim Lavoie and Dr. Simon Bacon, with assignment to a primary research focus based on expertise and interests. Responsibilities may include developing and testing behavioural and digital health interventions, leading quantitative and/or qualitative analyses, contributing to longitudinal and epidemiological studies, coordinating multi-site collaborations, producing manuscripts and policy briefs, and engaging stakeholders and end users.

Eligibility: PhD in an applied health-related discipline (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Psychology, Medicine, Nursing, Kinesiology/Exercise Science, or related fields). The post emphasizes research productivity, experience in behaviour change, digital health, population studies, advanced quantitative methods, or healthcare communication, plus strong communication and teamwork skills. English/French communication is preferred.

Funding: Full-time postdoctoral fellowship for one year, renewable, with funding already secured. The stipend is competitive and aligned with FRQS funding levels, with conference support included.

Location: Research activities will be conducted primarily at the CIUSSS–NIM, Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal, within MBMC. The fellow may be registered at Concordia University or UQAM.

Application deadline: Friday, August 28, 2026, 5:00 pm ET. Applications are reviewed as they are received until the position is filled.

How to apply: Send a single PDF by email to [email protected] with a CV, motivation letter and research statement, and 2–3 representative publications. Use the subject line “Fellowship – Health Behavioural Change”.
