Postdoctoral opportunity in Civil Engineering at the Universidad de Chile for the 2027 ANID Fondecyt Postdoctoral Fellowship Call in Chile.

The position is linked to the Research Group on Dynamic Soil-Structure Interaction and Geotechnical Uncertainty in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. The research environment is centered on geotechnical engineering, earthquake geotechnical engineering, dynamic soil-structure interaction, geotechnical uncertainty quantification, nonlinear numerical modelling, monitoring, and artificial intelligence applied to geotechnical engineering.

The selected applicant will prepare a proposal for the ANID postdoctoral competition and, where relevant, complementary university funding sources. The research will be carried out mainly in Chile, with possible short research stays or internships abroad and opportunities for collaboration with universities and research institutes in Europe, Canada, and the United States.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must have completed the Ph.D. between January 2024 and June 30, 2026, according to the official ANID guidelines. The post is aimed at early-career researchers and prefers candidates with accepted, published, or submitted manuscripts, ideally indexed in Web of Science.

Funding: reference funding is approximately CLP 31,164,000 per year, including maintenance, travel, and research operating expenses. Final amounts depend on the official call rules.
