About this position

Two postdoctoral researchers are sought for the Brain Signaling and Neurolipids Lab at Institut de Química Avançada de Catalunya (IQAC-CSIC), Barcelona, through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship call.

The positions focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence, membrane biophysics, and GPCRs. One project investigates how lipid-driven membrane changes reshape receptor conformational states in the context of neurological aging, using generative AI approaches such as diffusion models, flow matching, or VAEs to sample and predict these dynamics. The second project uses graph neural networks and latent space analysis on large-scale molecular dynamics simulation data to identify hidden regulatory sites with therapeutic potential.

Ideal candidates should have a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Chemistry, Biophysics, or a related field, along with strong Python skills and experience in deep learning for scientific or molecular data. Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow is essential, and familiarity with GNNs, VAEs, latent space methods, diffusion models, or flow matching is advantageous.

The fellowship offers a competitive MSCA salary and career development support, plus first-authorship opportunities, international experimental collaborations, and integration into a visible GPCR community resource.

Applicants must also satisfy the MSCA mobility rule: they must not have resided in Spain for more than 12 months between September 2023 and September 2026.

Deadline: 9 September 2026. Early expressions of interest are encouraged, ideally before June or July.

How to apply: Send a CV, motivation letter, and two recommendation letters to [email protected] with the subject line “MSCA-PF Expression of Interest”.
