About this position

Postdoctoral position at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, Morocco in Artificial Intelligence applied to multi-omics data integration for health and precision medicine.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team working on AI-driven methods to integrate and analyze genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and microbiome data. The project aims to identify biomarkers, therapeutic targets, disease mechanisms, and predictive signals relevant to personalized medicine, disease stratification, and next-generation precision health.

The research agenda includes addressing key challenges in multi-omics integration: heterogeneity and high dimensionality, data sparsity, batch effects, missing values, cross-omics fusion, representation learning, causal discovery, longitudinal modeling, explainable AI, and scalable computation for large clinical cohorts. The postdoctoral researcher will design and implement AI/ML pipelines, develop deep learning models such as variational autoencoders, graph neural networks, and transformers, and apply multi-view learning and transfer learning to heterogeneous omics and clinical metadata.

The role also involves network-based analysis of gene regulatory, protein-protein interaction, and metabolic networks; building predictive models for disease classification, patient stratification, and treatment response; and collaborating with biologists, clinicians, and bioinformaticians to validate findings. Outputs are expected to include publications in high-impact journals, conference presentations, and workshop contributions, as well as mentoring of graduate students and early-career researchers.

Eligibility: Applicants should hold a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Required skills include proven experience in multi-omics data integration, machine learning, deep learning, Python, R, Unix/Linux, and relevant bioinformatics tools and databases. Experience with cloud platforms and HPC environments is desirable, along with a strong publication record and excellent communication skills.

Application: Submit a single PDF containing a cover letter, CV with publications, and contact details for two academic referees. The posting provides an application link, and the deadline is currently unspecified.
