Postdoctoral Position in Cellular Aging at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences
The Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Sciences (IBB PAS), in Warsaw, is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for the project “Tracing the aging phenotype at the cellular level”, hosted by the Laboratory of Genome Stability Mechanisms. This is a full-time, temporary postdoctoral post in the biological sciences, with a planned start date of 1 October 2026.
The project is funded by the Polish National Science Centre and focuses on understanding aging-related cellular phenotypes. The position is well suited to a researcher with a strong background in biochemistry, biology, or a closely related field, and with practical experience in molecular biology, fluorescence microscopy, and microscopic image/data analysis. Knowledge of yeast genetics is expected, and experience in flow cytometry would be beneficial.
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent before taking up the position, with the degree obtained no more than seven years before the start date. Strong English communication skills are required for collaboration within the group and with partner institutions, as well as for preparing publications. The posting also highlights the importance of scientific motivation, evidenced by publications and references from the candidate’s thesis tutor. Polish language skills are welcome but not mandatory.
