About this position
Postdoctoral Position in Computational Immunology and Genomics at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
The Division of Infectious Diseases is recruiting a full-time postdoctoral scholar to work in computational immunology, genomics, infectious disease, vaccine immunity, systems serology, PhIP-Seq, single-cell RNA-seq, transcriptomics, and human genetics. The project integrates whole-genome sequencing, transcriptomics, antibody and immunophenotyping data, and clinical datasets to study human immune responses and clinically relevant phenotypes.
The successful candidate will develop and apply computational, statistical, and machine-learning approaches; analyze WGS and next-generation sequencing data; work with single-cell and multi-omics datasets; and contribute to manuscripts, grant applications, and first-author publications. The role also includes collaboration with experimental immunologists, clinicians, and computational researchers.
Eligibility highlights: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field; strong Python and/or R programming; experience with high-dimensional biomedical data, Linux/Unix, statistics, reproducible workflows, and scientific writing. Preferred experience includes Seurat/Scanpy, machine learning, variant analysis, multi-omics integration, HLA/immunogenomics, workflow tools such as Nextflow or Snakemake, Git, and HPC/cloud computing.
Funding: full-time postdoctoral scholar appointment with a salary estimate of $71,491-$85,736.
Application: submit a CV, cover letter, statement of research, and three professional references through UCLA Recruit. The final application deadline is 2026-12-30, with next review date on 2026-10-16 for full consideration.
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States.
