About this position

Postdoctoral position at Aarhus University, Denmark, in data integration for biodiversity dynamics. The project sits in the Department of Biology, Section for Ecoinformatics and Biodiversity (ECOINF), and focuses on combining large biodiversity datasets with geospatial and remote sensing data to understand how biodiversity changes under multiple global change drivers.

The research is centered on biodiversity dynamics, ecology, environmental science, remote sensing, geospatial data, advanced statistics, AI and machine learning, and modelling of species range dynamics, functional trait variation, and species interactions. The work aims to quantify environmental stressors and their impacts on ecosystems in Denmark and Europe, with opportunities to contribute to high-impact biodiversity science and global change ecology.

The position is primarily funded by the Center for Sustainable Landscapes Under Global Change (SustainScapes). You will work directly with Professor Signe Normand, with possible collaboration with Fabian Schneider and other researchers at the Center for Landscape Research in Sustainable Agricultural Futures (Land-CRAFT).

Eligibility highlights include a PhD in biology, earth system science, data science, or a related field; several years of interdisciplinary experience; strong publication record; excellent English communication; and the ability to acquire, manage, and synthesize large datasets across scales. The appointment is a two-year postdoc expected to start 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Deadline: 11 October 2026. Applications must be submitted in English through Aarhus University’s recruitment system and include a CV, degree certificate, publication list, future research plan, and relevant teaching documentation.
