About this position

Stanford University’s Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is advertising an open postdoctoral position in the Endocrine Oncology Lab under faculty sponsor Electron Kebebew in the Department of Surgery / General Surgery.

The lab focuses on mechanistic and translational studies in endocrine cancers. Research areas include: (1) identifying molecular pathways that govern endocrine cancer initiation and progression and characterizing altered genes/pathways using in vitro and in vivo models; and (2) discovering therapeutic targets and novel anticancer agents for endocrine cancers. This is a strong fit for candidates interested in cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, and translational oncology.

The position is open-ended and the start date is as soon as possible. The expected base pay range is $79,056–$80,212. Stanford notes that the selected candidate’s pay will depend on qualifications, budget availability, and internal equity.

Required qualifications include a PhD in cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a closely related field; experience leading an independent research project toward publication; excellent experimental reasoning; good English communication skills; a collaborative working style; professionalism; strong interpersonal skills; and a willingness to mentor and support other lab members.

To apply, email your materials to [email protected]. Submit a cover letter describing your previous research experience, why you are applying to the lab, and why you should be considered, along with your CV and contact information for three references.
