About this position

The Human Movement Biomechanics research group at KU Leuven, led by Professor Benedicte Vanwanseele, is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher. The group focuses on personalizing and optimizing rehabilitation and training by identifying movement-related biomarkers to support patient and athlete stratification and optimize treatment and training strategies. The successful candidate will provide scientific and educational support within the domain of human movement biomechanics.

Key responsibilities include supporting PhD students in setting up measurement protocols in the motion analysis lab, training and mentoring new researchers, processing and analyzing data from 3D motion capture and medical imaging, supporting multi-body simulations, assisting in the development and writing of research projects, coordinating educational activities, and providing administrative and technical support for group activities.

Applicants should have a PhD in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, or a related field, with experience in 3D motion capture, medical imaging, and multi-body simulations. The role requires strong collaborative and communication skills, as well as the ability to mentor and support junior researchers. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative academic environment at KU Leuven, a leading institution in Belgium, with a focus on cutting-edge research in biomechanics, rehabilitation, and sports science.

The application deadline is 29 January 2026. Interested candidates should visit the LinkedIn post for more details and application instructions. This is a paid postdoctoral research position; however, specific funding details are not provided in the announcement.
