About this position
Stanford University’s Andreas Tolias Lab is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar for the newly launched Simons Collaboration on Ecological Neuroscience (SCENE).
The project sits at the intersection of neuroscience, cognitive science, machine learning, and theoretical/computational modeling. The postdoc will work on questions about how affordances shape neural representations, perception, and behavior, with opportunities to contribute to high-density electrophysiology, behavioural experiments, and cross-lab collaborations.
Research themes include large-scale macaque electrophysiology (including Neuropixels), cognitive and behavioural paradigms in primates or humans, and computational approaches that bridge neural data and behaviour. The lab emphasizes open science, ambitious collaborative work, and high-impact publications.
Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with macaque electrophysiology, behavioural paradigms, theoretical neuroscience, machine learning, or AI is strongly valued, along with proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar analysis tools.
Location: Stanford University, Stanford, California, USA. The position is full-time and open to recent PhD graduates. Salary is at least the Stanford postdoctoral minimum (FY27 minimum USD 79,056) plus full Stanford benefits.
How to apply: email a single PDF to [email protected] with a cover letter, CV, up to two representative publications, and three references. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until filled.
