Postdoctoral position in Physics Education Research at the University of Colorado Boulder, in Heather Lewandowski’s research group, focused on quantum laboratory courses.

The project studies student learning, skill development, and career preparation in undergraduate and graduate quantum lab environments. A major component examines a capstone-style course where students collaborate with quantum industry partners on authentic, team-based projects. The postdoc will also help investigate how these courses can be adapted and scaled across institutions to support the growing quantum workforce.

This role offers substantial intellectual flexibility, with room to shape the research direction within the broader themes of quantum education, laboratory instruction, and workforce development.

Eligibility: Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, engineering, physics education, or a closely related field; some knowledge of quantum mechanics; strong written and oral communication skills; and a strong interest in education research. Prior Physics Education Research experience is not required, but interest in the field is expected.
