About this position
Postdoctoral position at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (Laboratoire de Chimie, UMR ENS-UCBL-CNRS 5182), France, in the area of plasmonic nanoparticles, polymerization in dispersed media, colloidal synthesis, and photopolymerization.
The project (ANR PhotoPick) focuses on the synthesis and surface modification of plasmonic nanoparticles, their role as solid stabilizers and photoinitiating systems, and the development of NPs-armored latex particles and functional hybrid materials. Research topics include colloidal stability, heterophase polymerization (emulsion, suspension, dispersion, mini/microemulsion), photothermal and antenna effects, photoredox transfers, and combinations with oxide nanoparticles such as CeO2 and ZnO.
The position is a full-time postdoc for 18 or 24 months, with possible extension, and the start date is 2026 or 2027. The postdoc will work with Dr. A. Désert and Prof. S. Parola, with collaboration expected with CP2M (F. Bourgeat-Lami).
Applicants should hold a PhD in chemistry or materials science and have expertise in colloidal synthesis and analytical techniques such as UV-vis absorption and TEM/SEM. Experience in polymers, spectroscopy, or plasmonics is considered an advantage.
To apply, email a cover letter, CV, and relevant experience to [email protected] and [email protected] with the subject line: Postdoctoral position - PhotoPick - Plasmonic nanoparticles.
