About this position

The Lu Lab at Stanford University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar to work at the interface of spatial biology, computational biology, and cancer therapeutics. The project aims to identify novel spatial biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and rational strategies for next-generation therapies using 2D/3D spatial-temporal omics, spatial pharmacology, and computational/AI approaches.

Research directions include: identifying spatial determinants of therapeutic delivery and response in solid tumors; studying tumor-stromal, tumor-immune, and tumor-ECM programs that drive resistance, progression, and metastasis; and developing AI-enabled spatial omics methods to discover new targets, biomarkers, and combination strategies.

The lab offers training in 2D/3D spatial multi-omics, single-cell spatial pharmacology, AI-enabled tissue analysis, and translational cancer biology, with access to large in-house spatial datasets and collaborations across Stanford Medicine, engineering, pathology, oncology, and surgery.

Eligibility: a doctoral degree must be conferred before the start date. The lab welcomes applicants with expertise in spatial/single-cell omics, bioinformatics, AI/ML, biomedical image analysis, multimodal integration, quantitative pathology, statistics, computational modeling, cancer biology, tumor microenvironment, cancer immunology, stromal/ECM biology, therapy resistance, metastasis, organoids, tissue explants, antibody therapeutics, antibody-drug conjugates, engineered cell therapies, immunotherapy, or pharmacology.

Funding: one-year appointment with possibility of renewal; salary is the Stanford required minimum for postdoctoral scholars (FY27 minimum $79,056).

How to apply: email a cover letter, CV, and three references to Guolan Lu at [email protected]. The position is available immediately and the start date is flexible.
