The Erlangen Center for Interface Research and Catalysis (ECRC) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the group of Professor Jörg Libuda. This position is focused on sustainable catalysis and surface science, with the goal of improving noble-metal efficiency and sustainable materials use. Research activities will include designing and conducting surface-science experiments on innovative model catalysts, utilizing synchrotron-based XPS, and employing complementary spectroscopy, microscopy, and diffraction techniques.

The successful candidate will analyze data from international synchrotron facilities, develop data-analysis workflows, collaborate in an interdisciplinary research environment, and contribute to publications and mentoring. The position is ideal for candidates with a PhD in chemistry, physics, materials science, or chemical engineering, and a strong interest in surface science, catalysis, and advanced characterization methods. Experience with synchrotron or surface-science techniques is beneficial but not required.
