About this position

CNRS is advertising a postdoctoral position based at the Institut de Physique de Nice (INPHYNI), CNRS–Université Côte d'Azur in Nice, France. The project sits within the PEPR QUTISYM programme and focuses on theory of disordered quantum systems, with emphasis on transport and dynamics in the presence of disorder, interactions, and/or topology.

The main research direction highlighted is the connection between Anderson localization and Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) physics, especially identifying experimentally observable signatures. Additional directions may include the superfluid-to-insulator transition, random quantum circuits, and the effects of quantum measurements.

The successful candidate will develop theoretical models, perform numerical simulations and analytical studies, investigate transport/localization/fluctuation properties, and compare predictions with experiments in collaboration with PEPR QUTISYM partners. The role also includes publishing in international journals and presenting at conferences and project meetings.

Eligibility highlights: PhD or equivalent in theoretical physics, quantum physics, statistical physics, condensed matter physics, or a related field; knowledge of quantum mechanics and statistical physics of disordered and/or out-of-equilibrium systems; experience with numerical simulations of quantum systems; autonomy, creativity, and collaborative skills. Experience in Anderson localization, quantum transport, KPZ phenomena, quantum circuits, or open quantum systems is an advantage. Basic French is listed.

Funding: The position is funded within the PEPR QUTISYM programme and is a temporary full-time contract. No stipend amount is stated.

Deadline: 23 October 2026, 23:59 UTC.

How to apply: Submit an application through the CNRS job portal. A Euraxess page is also provided for viewing or applying.
