About this position
Postdoctoral position in wide-field calcium imaging and memory research in rodents at the Medical Faculty of Ruhr University Bochum, Department of Neurophysiology, Germany.
The project focuses on the interaction of cortical systems with the hippocampus in long-term associative memory. The successful candidate will work with wide-field calcium imaging in freely behaving rodents and will also use optogenetics and rodent behavioural paradigms. Experience with stereotaxic methodology, in vivo electrophysiology, Matlab/Python, and signal analysis is advantageous.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Neuroscience or a related discipline, have a proven publication record in the relevant methods and research area, and be competent in quantitative data analysis. A FELASA B qualification (or equivalent) is required. Teaching participation in German is expected.
The position is funded at E13 for 2 years with the possibility of extension. Deadline: 30 September 2026. Start date: 1 February 2026.
