About this position

Two postdoctoral positions are open in the research group of Dr. Zongliang (Carl) Jiang at the University of Florida (Gainesville, USA). The project area is bovine stem cell embryology, with a strong emphasis on stem cell biology, embryology, reproductive biology, developmental biology, cell biology, and molecular biology.

The first postdoc will work on developing independent research programs to drive bovine stem cell-based gametes and in vitro gametogenesis for next-generation breeding applications. The second postdoc will focus on published bovine stem cell embryo models, including ESC, TSC, XEN, and blastoid systems, combined with gene editing and computational approaches to study pre-/peri-implantation lineage crosstalk and developmental disorders. This role also includes developing blastoid technology for assisted reproductive technology (ART) applications.

Applicants should have a Ph.D., preferably with less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience. The post emphasizes a strong publication record, including at least one first-author paper, and experience with pluripotent stem cell and organoid culture, embryo micromanipulation, genome editing, and omics data analysis. Interest in germ cell development and peri-implantation biology is highly recommended.

Funding is described as following University of Florida or NIH guidelines, with ample resources and excellent training opportunities. The post does not list a fixed deadline in the announcement.

To apply, prepare a single PDF containing a one-page research statement and career goals, CV, contact details for three references, and PDFs of recent publications or manuscripts ready for submission. Email the materials to Dr. Carl Jiang at [email protected].
