HIFMB Oldenburg is advertising postdoctoral positions in the HIPP 27: HUMAN PROGRESS cohort, an interdisciplinary project that connects the natural sciences with the humanities and social sciences to address complex marine and environmental questions.

• Words and Power in Marine Biodiversity — linguistic analysis of EBSA names, marine protected areas, naming practices, narratives, and power relations in ocean governance.

• Additional themes in the cohort include human decisions in environmental systems, science narratives, and (re-)examining modelling.

The project emphasizes interdisciplinary thinking, computational methods, and the creation of new frameworks for understanding marine science and environmental change.
