About this position
Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Immunology at the University of Oxford (Kennedy Institute / NDORMS), based in London, England, United Kingdom.
The Clarke research group is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to work on spatial immunometabolism, with a particular focus on B cell metabolism and the germinal centre (GC) reaction. The project sits at the intersection of immunology, biology, and medical science, and aims to understand how cellular metabolic processes shape immune responses in health and disease.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 3 years. The role is supported by the ERC and includes a salary of £39,424-£46,476 per annum (including Oxford University Weighting). The post offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge discovery science and early-stage clinical research in a highly collaborative biomedical environment.
Responsibilities include carrying out research in spatial immunometabolism, developing and adapting scientific techniques and experimental protocols, analysing data, testing hypotheses, contributing ideas for new projects, and supporting less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, PhD students, and project students.
Applicants should hold a PhD in immunology or a related area, or be near completion, and should have relevant experience in standard immunology techniques. A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and an understanding of cellular metabolism in the immune system are expected. A UK personal licence for animal work is required or must be obtained.
To apply, submit a covering letter/supporting statement, CV, and details of two referees via the online application system. The closing date is 9 November 2026 at 12pm.
