The role sits within a multidisciplinary, internationally connected research team focused on improving agricultural productivity and sustainability through microbiome-based approaches.
The successful candidate will contribute to research programs integrating microbiomes for sustainable agriculture, with work spanning plant–microbial interactions, metabolomics, RNAi, and soil systems. Responsibilities include producing peer-reviewed publications and synthesis papers, supporting externally funded projects, engaging with growers and other industry stakeholders, and contributing to data management, team initiatives, and postgraduate activities.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a PhD or near completion in soil science, plant science, microbial ecology, or a related discipline; a strong publication record; and experience in microbiome research, metabolomics and/or RNAi in soil or plant systems. Collaborative research experience and industry engagement are desirable. A current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, and C class driver’s licence may be required.
