Two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are available at The University of Western Australia in the area of agriculture , plant–microbe interactions , microbial ecology , soil health , and crop disease management . The role sits within a multidisciplinary, internationally connected research team focused on improving agricultural productivity and sustainability through microbiome-based approaches. The successful candidate will contribute to research programs integrating microbiomes for sustainable agriculture, with work spanning plant–microbial interactions , metabolomics , RNAi , and soil systems . Responsibilities include producing peer-reviewed publications and synthesis papers, supporting externally funded projects, engaging with growers and other industry stakeholders, and contributing to data management, team initiatives, and postgraduate activities. This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 3.5 years at Level A , with a base salary range of $83,499–$112,371 per annum (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation . The position is research-focused and offers strong mentorship, increasing autonomy, and the opportunity to build a recognised research profile in a research-intensive university environment. Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a PhD or near completion in soil science, plant science, microbial ecology, or a related discipline; a strong publication record; and experience in microbiome research, metabolomics and/or RNAi in soil or plant systems.
