The role also includes publishing papers, presenting at conferences, mentoring students, and contributing to grant writing.

Eligibility: a completed doctoral degree in plasma physics, nuclear engineering, applied physics, computational science, or a closely related field; strong background in plasma physics and magnetic-confinement fusion; research experience in computational physics/numerical simulation/scientific computing; programming skills in Fortran, Python, MATLAB, C, or C++; and strong communication and teamwork skills. Desired experience includes gyrokinetic turbulence, energetic-particle physics, reduced-MHD/gyrofluid tools, integrated transport modeling, tokamak data analysis, machine learning, and HPC.

Funding: full-time two-year appointment with benefits; salary range $63,480-$90,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The position is on-campus at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with some work also possible at collaborating fusion facilities.
