About this position
Texas A&M AgriLife Research and the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University are recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in entomology, chemistry, animal science, and toxicology-related applied research.
The project is focused on rapidly developing field-ready treatments for screwworm-caused myiasis, including a wound-conforming foam, a bio-adhesive spray, and an immersion wash. The postdoc will lead larvicidal efficacy studies, dose-response and time-to-kill benchmarks, and dose-sparing analyses using botanicals plus synthetic active ingredients. The role also includes veterinary safety and residue testing in dairy and beef cattle, with measurements in milk, plasma, and edible tissues.
This is a research leadership position requiring independent experimental planning, strong quantitative analysis, data integrity, and the ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team that includes chemical engineers, veterinarians, microbial ecologists, and entomologists. Responsibilities include colony maintenance, managing data pipelines, producing manuscripts and technical reports, presenting results, and mentoring technicians and undergraduate researchers.
Required: a PhD in entomology, chemistry, animal science, toxicology, or a closely related field. Preferred experience includes arthropod handling/rearing, pesticide formulation, livestock or live-animal research, molecular assays, statistical modeling (including probit analysis), grant writing, outreach, and arthropod identification.

What's required
