About this position

University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and IT, in Sydney, Australia.

The role focuses on geotechnical engineering, rail track geotechnology, civil engineering, computational modelling, and data analysis. The successful candidate will work with chief investigators and PhD students on an ARC project involving improved railroad design and maintenance solutions, accurate assessment of track performance, 1:1 scale physical modelling, recycled rubber and other unique materials, and the Large-scale Dynamic Triaxial Apparatus.

Applicants should have a Bachelor of Civil Engineering or related discipline, a PhD in geotechnical engineering, a publication record in recognised journals, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to conduct laboratory physical modelling. Skills in data analytics and/or computational geotechnics are also required. Experience with waste materials characterisation, laboratory testing, and field testing is desirable.

This is a full-time, three-year fixed-term postdoctoral appointment. Salary is $95,565 to $116,393 per year plus 17% superannuation. No scholarship or tuition waiver is mentioned.
