About this position
Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) in Seattle, Washington State is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Long Lab within the Center for Translational Immunology.
The project focuses on human immunology, type 1 diabetes, autoimmune disease, autoreactive B and T cells, immune regulation, and disease progression. The lab uses advanced human immunology, single-cell and multi-modal technologies, systems immunology, and translational approaches to study early-stage T1D and related immune-mediated diseases. The postdoc will also gain exposure to work spanning Down’s syndrome and immune aging through collaboration with the Khor lab.
This is a mentored training opportunity for early-career scientists. The successful candidate will design and lead independent or semi-independent research projects, perform cellular and molecular experiments, analyze large biological datasets, prepare manuscripts, contribute to fellowship and grant applications, and collaborate with investigators at BRI, the University of Washington, TrialNet, and other partners.
Eligibility highlights: Ph.D. in Immunology or a related biomedical science; experience with tissue culture and cellular/molecular biology; strong communication skills; independent thinking and scientific creativity. Preferred experience includes human immunology, autoimmune disease, T1D, flow or spectral cytometry, single-cell technologies, clinical samples, translational research, and computational analysis.
