About this position

Two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are open in Infectious Disease Modelling at the University of Oxford, based in the Wolfson Centre for Mathematical Biology within the Mathematical Institute. The posts are part of the Oxford-GSK Mathematics Informed Medicine Centre (MiMeC) and sit within the Infectious Disease Modelling research group.

The research focuses on developing mathematical models to support vaccine development and deployment. Example projects include multi-scale within-host and population-scale epidemiological models to optimise vaccine dosing, and improving vaccine targeting and timing for different pathogens and populations. The work is closely linked to the MiMeC Vaccines Epidemiology theme and collaboration with GSK.

Applicants should be proficient in model development, programming, and working with real-world data. The positions are 3-year fixed-term research roles. The job advert also notes that postdoctoral researchers will contribute to the research group and may have a small amount of teaching during the academic terms.

Funding is provided by the Oxford-GSK MiMeC. Salary is listed at Grade 7: £41,636–£47,779 per annum. The positions have a flexible start date, with the earliest start date of 01 Oct 2026 and the latest possible start date of 09 Oct 2027.

The application deadline is 19 May 2026 at 12:00 noon UK time. Applicants must arrange for two referees to send reference letters directly to the specified email address by the closing date. Informal enquiries can be directed to the HR Administrator.
