The successful candidate will work with ORNL researchers and collaborate with the U.S. Lattice QCD community, with applications connected to physics, including nuclear physics, astrophysics, and high energy physics. The appointment is available immediately and is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year or extension up to 24 months depending on performance and funding.

Eligibility requires a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, computational physics, computer science, applied mathematics, computational science, or a related field, earned no more than five years before the application date. Preferred experience includes large-scale application development, C/C++, MPI, accelerator programming models, heterogeneous computing, and performance profiling.
