About this position

Yale University’s Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging / Yale Biomedical Imaging Institute is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in preclinical MRI and multimodal neuroimaging.

The project is based in the laboratory of Basavaraju G. Sanganahalli, PhD, Assistant Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, and is supported by a newly funded NIH R01. The research focuses on multimodal neuroimaging of early brain dysfunction in Alzheimer’s disease, with an emphasis on identifying early imaging and metabolic biomarkers of neurodegeneration and olfactory dysfunction in animal models.

Research activities include preclinical MRI/fMRI, DTI, MRS, longitudinal imaging, functional connectivity analysis, and integration of imaging, behavioral, metabolic, and molecular/histological data. The role uses advanced computational and statistical approaches and offers training in MRI physics, neuroscience, biomarker development, manuscript preparation, grant development, conference presentations, and collaborative multidisciplinary research.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Neuroimaging, Physics, or Biophysics. Strong quantitative and analytical skills are required, along with proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python. Experience with preclinical MRI/fMRI/MRS, rodent models, image processing, functional connectivity, multimodal data analysis, R, machine learning, or advanced statistics is preferred.

Funding includes a $68,500 annual salary plus a comprehensive benefits package with health and dental insurance, paid holidays, vacation time, and sick leave.

To apply, send a CV, brief cover letter, and contact information for 2–3 references to [email protected]. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
