About this position
Texas A&M University’s Department of Chemistry is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in RNA biology, chemical biology, sequencing, and bioinformatics. The project focuses on developing and applying innovative methods to investigate RNA–protein interactions in living cells, with an emphasis on RNA structure, RNA dynamics, and protein recognition.
The successful candidate will design, optimize, troubleshoot, and perform experimental workflows using chemical biology, sequencing, and molecular biology techniques. The role also includes processing and analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, including the lab’s DMS-MaPseq pipeline, and developing computational workflows for RNA structure and RNA–protein interaction studies.
This is a research-intensive postdoctoral position with opportunities to contribute to manuscript preparation, grant applications, data analysis, and scientific writing. The postdoc will also help train graduate and undergraduate students and present findings at seminars and conferences.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology, or a closely related field (completed or expected before the start date); experience in RNA biology or protein–nucleic acid interactions; expertise in chemical biology or RNA structure probing; familiarity with Python, R, or bioinformatics pipelines; and a strong publication record.
