Postdoctoral Research Associate x2 in Chemical Biology of Mitochondria at University of Cambridge University of Cambridge in United Kingdom

Two postdoctoral Research Associate positions are available in the research group of Professor Mike Murphy at the Medical Research Council Mitochondrial Biology Unit, University of Cambridge.

The project focuses on chemical biology of mitochondria, with an emphasis on developing and expanding chemical and mass spectrometric analytical techniques in mitochondrial biology. The work includes drug delivery, probe development, mitochondrial function, and research into mitochondrial dysfunction in human disease.

Applicants should have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD in biochemistry, biological chemistry, or a related discipline. Experience in mitochondrial biology, chemical biology, small molecule mass spectrometry, and confocal microscopy of mitochondria is especially welcome.

The positions are funded by the Wellcome Trust and are fixed term from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2029. The University of Cambridge notes that candidates who have submitted but not yet received their PhD may initially be appointed as Research Assistant until the PhD is confirmed.
