About this position

Postdoctoral Research Associates are open in the Theodorescu Lab at the University of Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson, Arizona.

The lab works on cancer cell biology, immunobiology, the tumor microenvironment (TME), and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) to study cancer transformation. The research toolkit includes biochemistry and molecular biology, CRISPR/Cas9 and functional genomics, next-generation sequencing including single-cell RNA sequencing, and proprietary mouse models.

This is a research-intensive postdoctoral role with approximately 75% bench research and 25% analysis and writing. Responsibilities include designing and performing laboratory experiments, documenting results, analyzing data with the PI, writing peer-reviewed manuscripts, and helping prepare grant proposals including NRSA/T32 applications.

Applicants must have a doctorate degree such as PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in cancer molecular biology, cell biology, or immunology. Recent graduates are welcome. Preferred candidates will have an outstanding publication record or existing extramural funding, along with strong molecular biology expertise and data analysis skills.
