About this position
American University of Sharjah (AUS), UAE is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 60 GHz FMCW radar IC design for telemedicine and non-contact healthcare sensing.
The project is led by Prof. Lutfi Albasha and Prof. Hasan Mir in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The research combines RFIC design, mm-Wave circuits, radar systems, beamforming, and AI-assisted signal processing to develop a fully integrated 60 GHz radar system-on-chip for respiratory monitoring, movement disorder assessment, and remote sensing applications.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing a 60 GHz radar front-end IC and on-chip antenna, driving the design through tapeout and characterization, performing RF/mm-Wave measurements, mentoring graduate students, and publishing in leading IEEE transactions.
Required qualifications: a PhD in Electrical Engineering, strong background in RFIC, mm-Wave circuits, or radar systems, demonstrated IC tapeout experience, proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre, experience with designs above 30 GHz, and a strong publication record. Preferred experience includes 60 GHz or W-band circuits, FMCW radar architectures, RF measurement and VNA calibration, and EM simulation.
The position is based in Sharjah, UAE, lasts one year and is renewable subject to funding. The post offers a competitive salary and benefits.
To apply, email your CV with publication list, cover letter, two references, and a representative publication or thesis chapter to [email protected] with the subject line Postdoc Application – 60 GHz RFIC. Applications are reviewed immediately and remain open until the position is filled.
