Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 60 GHz FMCW Radar IC Design for Telemedicine
American University of Sharjah (AUS), UAE is inviting applications for a
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
in
60 GHz FMCW radar IC design
for
telemedicine
and non-contact healthcare sensing.
The project is led by
Prof. Lutfi Albasha
and
Prof. Hasan Mir
in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The research combines
RFIC design
,
mm-Wave circuits
,
radar systems
,
beamforming
, and
AI-assisted signal processing
to develop a fully integrated
60 GHz radar system-on-chip
for applications such as respiratory monitoring, movement disorder assessment, and remote healthcare sensing.
The successful candidate will design and implement a 60 GHz radar front-end IC and on-chip antenna, drive the design through tapeout and characterization, perform RF/mm-Wave measurements, mentor graduate students, and publish in leading IEEE transactions. Research facilities include an on-wafer RF probe station in a cleanroom, a Keysight 110 GHz 4-port VNA, and Cadence Virtuoso/Calibre environments.
Eligibility highlights include a
PhD in Electrical Engineering
, strong experience in
RFIC
,
mm-Wave
, or
radar systems
, tapeout experience, Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre proficiency, experience above 30 GHz, and a strong publication record. Preferred experience includes 60 GHz or W-band circuits, FMCW radar architectures, RF measurement and VNA calibration, and EM simulation.
The appointment is located in
Sharjah, UAE
, for
one year
with renewal subject to funding. The post offers a
competitive salary and benefits
. Applications are reviewed immediately and will remain open until the position is filled.
