About this position
We are hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Epidemiology at Tulane University, in collaboration with the University of Southern California and Kaiser Permanente Southern California. This NIH R01-funded project will examine how prenatal exposure to extreme heat and wildfire smoke may affect autism spectrum disorder and early-life neurodevelopment using a large pregnancy cohort and high-quality electronic health record data.
The fellowship offers research training in environmental epidemiology, climate and health, wildfire smoke, geospatial exposure assessment, advanced quantitative methods, and neurodevelopmental epidemiology. The fellow will have opportunities to lead first-author manuscripts, present at scientific meetings, contribute to future NIH grant applications, and gain mentoring and teaching experience.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Geography, Data Science, or a related field. Strong quantitative skills and experience with R or Python are expected. Prior experience in environmental epidemiology, extreme weather, air pollution/wildfire smoke, spatial epidemiology, neurodevelopment, or advanced statistical methods is especially welcome.
To apply, prepare a cover letter, CV, one representative publication, and three professional references. Questions can be directed to Md Mostafijur Rahman at [email protected].
