About this position
Postdoctoral Research Fellow opportunity in experimental political science at the University of Oxford, within the Department of Politics and International Relations and the Centre for Democratic Resilience.
The role is part of the TRUST-D project led by Professor Petra Schleiter. The project studies how participatory innovations such as citizens’ assemblies, mini-publics, and participatory budgeting affect long-term political trust, with a particular interest in young voters.
The postholder will help design and implement field experiments and survey experiments, analyse data, and contribute to academic publications, conference presentations, policy briefs, and stakeholder engagement. This is a collaborative research role in a vibrant environment with postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students, and wider research staff.
Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a doctorate in political science or a related field, and have experience in quantitative research. Interest in political behaviour, democratic participation, and democratic resilience is specifically mentioned.
The position is full-time and fixed term for 30 months, starting from 16 November or as soon as possible thereafter. The deadline is 23 October 2026 at 12 noon UK time.
How to apply: submit an online application through the University of Oxford job portal, including a CV and supporting statement. Use reference 189091.
