About this position
University College Dublin is advertising a temporary 24-month, 1FTE Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 in the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science.
The role is attached to the AMEN project (“Personalised mHealth Maternal Nutritional Education for Equitable Nutritional Access and Improved Maternal and Offspring Health Outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa”), a collaborative project led by UCD and the University of Limpopo, South Africa. The project is funded by Research Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs under the SDG Challenge Grant.
Research themes include public health, maternal nutrition, mHealth, digital health, and maternal and child health outcomes. The project aims to support a digital health intervention that educates pregnant women on balanced nutrition, locally available staple foods, and responsible consumption to reduce under- and over-nutrition and improve maternal and offspring birth outcomes.
This is a postdoctoral opening, not a PhD or Masters call. The PD1 role is intended for early-stage researchers, typically just after PhD completion or for someone entering a new area for the first time. Applicants with more than 4 years of total postdoctoral experience, or those who have already completed PD1 at UCD, are not eligible for this post.
