Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Functional Analysis, Operator Semigroups and Evolution Equations at the University of the Free State University of the Free State in South Africa

University of the Free State (UFS) is re-advertising a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.

The fellowship is aimed at an outstanding doctoral graduate with a PhD completed within the last five years. The research focus is functional analysis, with emphasis on operator semigroups, evolution families, and evolution equations. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to research in perturbation theory and network theory, maintain a strong publication record, and support departmental activities such as supervising postgraduate students and organizing workshops.

Funding includes an annual fellowship of R 270,000 plus R 30,000 for research expenses. The award is initially for one year and may be renewed for up to three years based on satisfactory performance.

Eligibility highlights: open to South African and foreign nationals; applicants should have a proven track record in high-quality journals; candidates must be able to relocate to UFS and cannot hold other full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
