University of the Free State (UFS) is re-advertising a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics . The fellowship is aimed at an outstanding doctoral graduate with a PhD completed within the last five years. The research focus is functional analysis , with emphasis on operator semigroups , evolution families , and evolution equations . The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to research in perturbation theory and network theory , maintain a strong publication record, and support departmental activities such as supervising postgraduate students and organizing workshops. Funding includes an annual fellowship of R 270,000 plus R 30,000 for research expenses. The award is initially for one year and may be renewed for up to three years based on satisfactory performance. Eligibility highlights: open to South African and foreign nationals; applicants should have a proven track record in high-quality journals; candidates must be able to relocate to UFS and cannot hold other full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
