Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Airway Stem Cell Biology and Regeneration University of Iowa in United States

The Ryan Lab in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in airway stem cell biology and regeneration. This is a full-time opportunity in the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine focused on mechanisms controlling airway epithelial cell fate decisions and repair.

The project combines cell biology, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and biomedical engineering approaches. Research will use in vitro and in vivo models of tracheal regeneration, including Emulate lung-on-a-chip / organ-on-a-chip platforms. The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative experiments, analyze data, contribute to manuscripts and presentations, and mentor junior trainees.

Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, cell biology, physiology, or a related field. Strong experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing skills are required. Experience with airway biology, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, microphysiological systems, or organ-on-a-chip platforms is preferred, along with mentoring and publication experience.
