Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Airway Stem Cell Biology and Regeneration

The Ryan Lab in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in airway stem cell biology and regeneration . This is a full-time opportunity in the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine focused on mechanisms controlling airway epithelial cell fate decisions and repair. The project combines cell biology , regenerative medicine , tissue engineering , and biomedical engineering approaches. Research will use in vitro and in vivo models of tracheal regeneration, including Emulate lung-on-a-chip / organ-on-a-chip platforms. The successful candidate will conduct independent and collaborative experiments, analyze data, contribute to manuscripts and presentations, and mentor junior trainees. Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, cell biology, physiology, or a related field. Strong experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing skills are required. Experience with airway biology, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, microphysiological systems, or organ-on-a-chip platforms is preferred, along with mentoring and publication experience.
