About this position

Stanford University’s Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join a growing program focused on pediatric type 1 diabetes, health disparities, and improving access to high-quality diabetes care and technology.

The research spans patient-, family-, provider-, and health-system-level factors that influence access to, adoption of, and sustained use of diabetes technology and other aspects of diabetes care. The work uses clinical and electronic health record data, survey and administrative data, qualitative methods, and mixed methods, with policy-relevant research questions and opportunities to contribute to observational, intervention, and translational studies.

This postdoctoral opening is especially well suited to candidates with a PhD or DrPH in sociology, public health, epidemiology, health services research, social sciences, or a related field. Stanford highlights strong scientific writing, independent research experience, analytic skills, and a record of peer-reviewed publications as important strengths. Experience in health disparities, social epidemiology, pediatric health, chronic disease, diabetes, implementation science, causal inference, or mixed methods is welcome. Prior diabetes experience is not required.

The scholar will have opportunities to lead first-author manuscripts, develop new research questions, present at national meetings, contribute to grant applications, collaborate with clinicians and statisticians, and build an independent research trajectory. The position is designed to support career development toward research independence while contributing meaningfully to an interdisciplinary research team.

Funding is a paid postdoctoral appointment with an expected base salary range of $79,056–$81,053. The post does not mention tuition support or a scholarship programme.

To apply, submit a CV, a cover letter describing your research interests and experience, and contact information for references. The cover letter should also explain a project or publication you substantially led and describe the research program you hope to develop. Questions and materials should be directed to Ananta Addala via Ofelia Colin at [email protected].
